The title is simple… it’s taken me thirteen years to realize I was actually working towards a goal.  I took a 5 1/2 year hiatus from this goal to work on my “career”, only to be rudely awoken to the fraudulence of it all.  You could imagine how that slap in the face felt, as we’ve all been there at some point, but I decided instead that it was a sign.  After some mulling and fear, I put paint to canvas again.  


   As for my past:  I was blinking my eyes wide open and taking my first gasp of air in the hub of New York, at that same time the age of disco was trying to stay alive but was coming to a halt and Margaret Thatcher was introducing the importance of power dressing with shoulder pads.  My parents are both closet artists and mathematical perfectionists which led me through teenage years of “logical creativity”.  “Enjoy yourself but make sure you make the responsible decision”, I still battle with that one… and the urgency to be a risk-taker before my times up.  


   From New York to San Diego and back again in NY, I am stepping lightly through the many art communities here, with hopes of getting to know my neighbors and making an impression on the local scene.
